Radio Mashaal is RFERL’s Pashto talking service which broadcasts for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, Khyber Pashtunkhwa, Pashtun-dominated areas of Balochistan and the Pashtun-dominated provinces of Afghanistan along the 2200-2400km long Durand Line. Mashaal Radio’s mission is to promote self-governing values, and to work as a substitute medium of information in the above particular area where free media does not exist. It broadcasts nine hours daily.
